The Opportunity:
SICGEN – Research and Development in Biotechnology Ltd, is a portuguese company specialised in antibody production and related services. SICGEN is pioneering in Portugal custom-made, high-affinity, high quality polyclonal antibodies. SICGEN was established to provide a source of reagents for life science researchers in academia and industry worldwide. SICGEN staff perform all the necessary protocols including production and preparation of antigens to antibody affinity purification and characterisation.
Description:
– Design and production of recombinant proteins (His, GST and MBP)
– Antibody purification by affinity chromatography
– Screening for specificity and validation of polyclonal antibodies in immunoassays including ELISA, Western blotting, immunofluorescence, IHC, immunoprecipitation and other related assays
Requirements/Qualifications:
Strong knowledge and experience on antigen design, recombinant protein production, antibody development and characterization, Western blotting, ELISA, molecular cell biology, cell culture, immunofluorescence microscopy
The candidate must be organised, dynamic, demonstrate exceptional oral and written skills in English, be able to manage multiple simultaneous project assignments and work well independently as well as being in a team environment
Experience with the project management aspects of assay development such as timelines, milestones, and validation are essential
Drive license
Education and Work Experience:
PhD, MSc and Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biology or related field
Experience and know-how in developing or producing antibodies and recombinant proteins preferred
Extensive Knowledge on biochemical techniques, such as Affinity chromatography, ELISA, IF, IHC and Western blotting.
